The strongest attribute of an islander is the ability to survive.

A company like AICIS can orchestrate knowledge… Not only the visionary work, but also the recipes and ingredients that give us the insight into ‘how others have done it’. We do not always have to re-invent the wheel.

Our local entrepreneurs are doing amazing things every day, but unfortunately some islanders tend to have a slight wariness of academic research. One of our challenges is to help them understand how comparative studies can benefit them. If they are exposed to the successes, failures and lessons learned from others in similar situations, they could acquire many ‘shortcuts’ to help solve existing problems, speed up their own development and better prepare themselves for impending threats or change, which will inevitably come.

I foresee that Åland could become a world leader in utilizing the type of work that AICIS produces, quickly, to provide results.
