Through its research activities and international networks, AICIS is bringing new knowledge and information home to Åland, which can further the development of our local companies, our political life, and the society in general. Very tangible benefits!

Research and higher education have not traditionally been prioritized on Åland and many of our bright young minds must leave the small islands in search of opportunities elsewhere. AICIS can help to unite other existing research groups onto a common local platform, possibly leading to more locally grounded opportunities in tertiary education and research. This could help to bring our talent back home to us and keep it here.
